Understanding Leadership Challenges in Asia: What We Know and What That Might Imply

Synopsis:

In collaboration with the Wall Street Journal and using their own flagship instrument, the iOpener People and Performance Questionnaire (iPPQ), iOpener has been collecting people data in Asia for the past three years. Jessica Pryce-Jones, joint CEO and Ruchira Chaudhary, senior partner Asia Pacific (AXP-11) will outline the research methodology, the results country by country, and offer strategic insights on what this might imply for leaders and their organizations in South East Asia. This will be followed with Q&A session and networking.

Speaker Bios

Jessica Pryce-Jones is the Joint CEO of the Oxford Based iOpener Institute. She works with senior executive teams and leads consulting interventions across industry sectors. Jessica strongly believes in data-driven and metrics-led results. Numbers help everyone understand what helps and hinders their performance and what drives outcomes. Her book, ‘Happiness at Work: Maximizing Your Psychological Capital For Success’ was published in 2010 both in the UK and in the USA. Her second, co-authored with her business partner Julia Lindsay, “Meetings and Workshops for Dummies” was published in April 2014. She has also been given a fellowship by Keble College, Oxford to write her third book which will be about leadership. As well as being a frequent media commentator, she lectures and teaches senior executives at Cass Business School, London Business School, Chicago Booth, Oxford (Saïd) and Judge Business School in Cambridge.

Ruchira Chaudhary is a Chicago Booth Alumni and the senior partner, Asia Pacific for iOpener based in Singapore. She has seventeen years of experience in organizational effectiveness, leadership development and executive coaching in emerging marketplaces in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

Prior to joining Iopener Institute, Ruchira led organizational effectiveness for the American insurance giant AIG in Asia Pacific. She has also worked with Qatar Telecom (Ooredoo), TCS, Aon Hewitt in various senior management roles. As a consultant she has led several post-merger integration assignments, restructured organisations and helped craft vision & strategy. Ruchira has deep domain expertise in the area of employee engagement and employer branding and frequently contributes to business journals on the same topic. She is a guest speaker at several business schools and the executive coach for University of Chicago Booth School of Business’ ADP program targeted at senior executives.
